This is your central hub for the Supervisor Leadership Excellence Programme. Use this page to access your eLearning, download your learner handbook, check what's coming up next and find the key resources you need throughout the programme.

Your learner handbook is an important part of the programme. Once downloaded, you will use it to record your Apply in Practice activities, buddy check-ins, line manager reviews and reflections as you progress through each module.

At the end of the programme, you will return to this page to submit your completed learner handbook for assessment and certification.

Programme schedule

Below are the modules and workshops you will complete as part of the Supervisor Leadership Excellence Programme. Please add the workshop dates to your calendar now to ensure you are available to attend.

Each classroom workshop is supported by a short Required Pre-Learning module. Please complete the relevant pre-learning in the LMS before attending each session. This will help you arrive prepared and allow the workshop to focus on discussion, practical activities and workplace application.

After each session, you will complete an Apply in Practice activity and record your reflection in your learner handbook before moving on to the next module.

    Session 1Onsite

    Programme Launch

    This opening session introduces the Supervisor Leadership Excellence Programme and explains how the learning journey will work. You will be introduced to the programme structure, learner handbook, Apply in Practice activities, buddy check-ins, manager reviews and certification requirements. The session will also clarify what is expected of you throughout the programme and how to use the LMS and resource hub to stay on track.

    Professional Communication Skills

    This workshop focuses on how supervisors communicate clearly, confidently and consistently in a busy operational environment. You will explore how to structure messages, improve handovers, communicate priorities and handle workplace conversations in a way that supports safety, quality, traceability and team performance.

    Required Pre-Learning: Before attending this workshop, please complete Lesson One: Communication Fundamentals in the LMS.

    Active Listening & Questioning Skills

    This workshop focuses on how supervisors listen, ask questions and check understanding in day-to-day workplace conversations. You will explore how to avoid assumptions, listen under pressure, ask better questions and use the LCCC model to structure conversations that support problem-solving, clarity and team engagement.

    Emotional Intelligence

    This workshop focuses on how supervisors manage their own responses and read team signals during busy or high-pressure situations. You will explore how emotions can influence communication, decision-making and team behaviour, and practise techniques for pausing before reacting, responding calmly and maintaining standards while supporting your team.

    Critical Thinking & Problem Solving

    This workshop focuses on how supervisors define problems clearly, separate facts from assumptions and take evidence-based action. You will explore practical tools for analysing production, quality, handover and team performance issues, with a focus on defining the real problem before deciding what action to take.

    Delegating Effectively

    This workshop focuses on how supervisors delegate tasks clearly, safely and appropriately while maintaining accountability. You will explore how to decide what to delegate, who to delegate to, how to brief effectively and how to monitor progress without micromanaging.

    Situational Leadership

    This workshop focuses on adapting your leadership approach based on the person, task and level of risk involved. You will explore how to assess team member readiness and decide when to direct, coach, support or delegate to help people perform effectively while maintaining operational standards.

    Managing Conflict & Difficult Conversations

    This workshop focuses on how supervisors address conflict, performance concerns and difficult conversations in a calm, respectful and standards-based way. You will explore how to prepare for challenging conversations, use facts rather than judgement, de-escalate defensiveness and agree clear actions and follow-up.

    Effective Planning & Prioritisation

    This workshop focuses on how supervisors plan shifts, manage competing priorities and respond effectively when conditions change. You will explore how to identify risks and blockers early, prioritise based on safety, quality, compliance, delivery and people, and communicate clear priorities during huddles, handovers and live shift changes.

    Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt

    This workshop focuses on applying Lean Six Sigma tools to real operational improvement opportunities. You will build on the Lean White Belt eLearning by exploring practical approaches to identifying waste, understanding process variation, analysing root causes and supporting continuous improvement within your work area.

    Leadership in Action – Programme Integration Workshop

    This final workshop brings together the key learning from across the programme and gives you an opportunity to reflect on how you have applied your learning in your role. You will review your development, share examples of workplace application and identify the leadership behaviours you want to continue strengthening beyond the programme.
